Thankfulness...

Fall is my favorite season and sadly it is here and gone in a flash around these parts. I have at least made a conscience choice to stop and take in the beautiful scenery as the season changes. Most of the time, its while I'm driving my Kindergartener to and from activities, pointing out the noticeable beauty from my drivers seat window.

I am thankful... for the breathtaking sites as the leaves pop with color! I love driving up to my house and seeing the multicolored mums that are planted and the array of assorted pumpkins sitting on my front stoop. I love sitting on the couch under a warm plush blanket and looking at the festive decor in my house.

The smells of the fall season are some of my favorites! The amazing scent of pumpkin chocolate chip muffins (mini size are my favorite) baking in the oven, apple cider on the stove, and wood burning in the fireplace. I think the simplest pleasure is the joy I find in pulling out my holiday candles. There is something about lighting them and letting the aroma pierce the house, it just makes me so happy! This year my favorite scent came from Bath & Body Works. It's a candle called Autumn and it smells amazing. They made it in two colors, cream & olive and it is fabulous!

I don't mind the cooler weather so much because I get to layer my clothes! I love sweaters, boots, fun coats and hats. I enjoy chunky wood jewelry & beaded blingy necklaces in autumn shades of brown, gold, navy and olives.

This time of year, I find myself thinking about soups & stews. Hearty & warm dishes. Caramel apples, pumpkin & turtle cookies, and Holiday coffee drinks! My taste buds are going wild and I'm loving every minute!

I think I love this season of the year the most because it feels homey & reminds me of family! There is an reminder to slow down, be aware of the beauty around you and a spirit of thankfulness for the blessings in your life! I have so enjoyed Autumn walks & conversations with my mom, cozy laid back Saturdays spent with my boys, baking with my son and celebrating the joys in the life of my friends!
